Those of you hoping Gears of War 2 was about to hit the Platinum Line aren't going to be happy -- a new Game of the Year edition of the game will be hitting retail next week and it retails for $39.99
For those that already own the game -- the new version is nothing to get excited about -- it contains all 19 DLC multiplayer maps and a code to download the Road to Ruin single player chapter. Nope, you don't even get it on the disc.
Considering that the game itself retails for $39.99 at most retail outlets, the new version seems to be a great deal for those yet to experience the title. You may remember that when the Road to Ruin content was announced, a retail pack of all the game's DLC was also announced -- then quietly canceled, seems we now know why.
