Shane Kim has announced that he plans to retire at the end of this year.

Kim, who has been with Microsoft for nearly 20 years has been one of the most recognizeable Xbox personalities and has had a hand in delivering some of this generation's biggest games including the Halo series and Gears.

Kim has held multiple positions with Microsoft's Gaming devision including Corporate Vice President and his current position -- Corporate Vice President of Strategy and Business Development.

Replacing Kim will be Phil Spencer -- the current General Manager of Microsoft Game Studios.
