You kids sure love your Halo games. So much so, that the franchise's newest chapter; Halo 3 ODST has sold over 2.5 million copies in the two weeks it's been on shelves. Combine that with the fact that a new Halo game, book series, comic and anime are all scheduled to hit shelves within the next year and you've got quite the proverbial cash cow.

But one question still lingers -- where's Master Chief? Have we seen the last of everyone's favorite Spartan? Not so says Bungie's Frank O' Conner.  (Note -- there's a minor spoiler ahead)

"As for Master Chief, odds are we'll see him again," O'Conner told USA today recently. "I think that (his) fate, along with Cortana's fate and the identity of that giant, dark planet at the ending (on the game's hardest skill level) -- that's a spoiler -- are probably big mysteries that would be irritating if they were just cliffhangers."

So when can we expect to see Master Chief's triumphant return, O'Conner isn't spilling the beans just yet but assures us that Bungie has a plan and it includes more than just the Halo games.

"We do have a plan that goes out at least six years," O'Conner said. "Eventually it will become very evident that there is a plan for the way the cannon all ties together and the way the comic books and the novels all tie together.
