To say that Vicarious Visions is taking a bit of a risk with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 would be a bit of an understatement. The New York based developer; most famous for the post Rock Band era Guitar Hero games takes the reigns of a much loved franchise, starring some of the world's most recognizeable characters in a storyline that reshaped the Marvel Universe forever.

Still though -- Dan Tanguay; the game's Director and Jason V. Shroeder -- the game's Lead Associate Producer don't seem to be showing any signs of nervousness. Why? It's clear that they love these characters and the Universe they live in. We sat down with the two to chat about the game,  the world of comics and where Marvel gaming is headed.

First though -- a bit of a cliffnotes version of The Civil War storyline for those not knowledgeable of the tights and cape crowd.  Following an incident that resulted in nearly 600 civilans being killed as the result of mutants -- the Federal Government introduced the Superhuman Registration Act which requires every person with superhuman abilities to register themselves to the authorities, reveal their true identity and undergo training. Half of the Marvel Universe; led by Iron Man are in favor of the act, but the other half -- led by Captain America refuse to conform with the new law. What follows is an epic that changed the rules of the Marvel Universe forever.

Co-operative gameplay seems to be a selling point these days.  Halo brought co-op back into the minds of many gamers back in 2001.  From there, games like Gears of War and even future iterations of Halo helped polish the nearly forgotten experience.  With the Lost Planet 2 four-player demo, co-operative gameplay is a welcomed inclusion to an otherwise mediocre experience.

Fans of Lost Planet will undoubtedly dig the demo.  It has nearly the same look of its predecessor with some graphical polish added to smooth the textures on screen.  Robots and grappling hooks and all the elements of the previous game helps players familiar with the series pick up where they may have left off and for new players, the combat system is pretty easy to learn.

Holy awesomeness, Batman!

Sorry, I swear that’s the only Adam West joke I’ll make here. Anyway, the demo for Batman: Arkham Asylum just hit the Marketplace, and it is awesome. Well, maybe it’s a little early to call it that, but, from what the demo shows, Batman is back and he’s ready to kick some serious ass.

Ok, that’s the last one.

As reported earlier by Xbox Fan Force, Xbox Live Gold members got their first crack at the much anticipated Madden NFL 2010 last week when an exclusive demo hit the marketplace.  As a result; we here at XBFF haven’t seen the sun for a week, but we’re ready to share our impressions of the latest installment of EA’s 800 LB gorilla.
